MEET THE COACH
When Ruben turned 18, he joined the Marine Corps straight out of high school. On 10/26/2006 reported to boot camp to become a US Marine. He served six years as a 0331 Machine Gunner and completed two combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After his time in the Marine Corps, he became an onsite one on one personal trainer and helped his clients reach their goals. During this period he also competed in CrossFit. Traveling to compete in places like Granite Games in Minnesota and Wodapalooza in Miami. He also finished top 100 for three years straight in the region. After a car accident in November of 2016, Ruben sustained a torn labrum from the airbag being deployed. After a year of trying to hold on to the hope of competing in CrossFit, Ruben knew it was time to step down. When one door closes another opens, and for Ruben, it was time to jump on stage and compete in the Classic Physique world. After a four-month prep period, Ruben competed in his hometown of Fresno, CA and placed second in the division in his very first show. He is now on a journey to prepare for his second show on June 30th and his first attempt at obtaining his pro card in November. Follow his journey and start your own with him on your side.
